PHOTO FLASH: Tyler Maynard, Donna McKechnie, Max Von Essen at Column Awards

Broadway veterans Tyler Maynard and Max Von Essen co-hosted the 2011 Column Awards gala, at the Irving Arts Center in Dallas, Texas on Monday, March 14. In addition, Tony Award winner Donna McKechnie made a special guest appearance.
Maynard’s Broadway credits include The Little Mermaid, Mamma Mia! and Mary Poppins; he earned a Theater World Award for Altar Boyz Off-Broadway. Von Essen is currently appearing in the Off-Broadway revival of Hello Again. His Broadway credits include Les Misérables, Dance of the Vampires, and Jesus Christ Superstar.
McKechnie won Tony and Drama Desk Awards for originating the role of Cassie in A Chorus Line, and was also Tony-nominated for State Fair. She performed two numbers during the gala, including “The Music and the Mirror.”
The gala also serves as a fundraiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
The Column Award honor excellence in theater within the Dallas-Fort Metroplex. They are executive produced by founder John Garcia.
