Lifeline Theatre is an ensemble of artists -- writers, directors, actors, and designers -- dedicated to using theater to educate, entertain and empower the community. Their objective has been to develop a theater center that provides on-going cultural and educational opportunities both for the artists that work here and the community who supports them. With their KidSeries programming in particular, the intent is to stimulate creativity and promote a love of language and reading, by exposing young audiences to the excitement and challenge of live theater. The Chicago Public School residency program offers in-school, curriculum based residencies designed to provide students and teachers with performance based techniques which will strengthen and develop their ability to think creatively and work cooperatively.
Each season, Lifeline produces four plays and three children's plays. The stage is flexible and there are 100 seats in the house.
