Synopsis:
A showcase of traditional Japanese music presented by some of Japan's innovative emerging artists. These artists push the restraints of their traditional training to present an energetic musical exploration featuring Japanese instruments including the biwa and the Tsugaru shamisen made popular by the Yoshida Brothers. The taiko drum and the haunting sounds of the shakuhachi and yokubue along with folk dance will be showcased.
