Synopsis: Set in 1938, The Sound of Music follows the story of Maria Rainer, a free-spirited nun who is hired by a widower, Captain von Trapp, to care for his children. Maria teaches the children to sing and although the Captain is engaged to a wealthy socialite, he and Maria fall in love and marry. Their happiness is soon threatened when the Nazis invade Austria.
