Synopsis:
The descendants of freed slaves, Sadie and her family live in Gee's Bend, Alabama, where they sing spirituals and sew scraps of old clothing into stunning quilts. Stitched into every quilt are the family's triumphs, struggles and pride. When the modern world sweeps into Gee's Bend, Sadie trusts that her faith will keep her world from tearing at the seams.
