Synopsis:
Contemporary London is haunted by a shape-shifting gremlin hungry to take possession of a young woman's baby. The Skriker appears as a child, a vagabond, a death portent: any form that would be most seductive to the weak. Caryl Churchill's dark fairy tale draws from English folklore through fractured language to fill a world in which ancient subhumans share a seat on the Tube and lure people to the underworld by way of the corner pub.
