Synopsis:
How can a musical about love and marriage survive over 40 years of performances and remain fresh? Is it the reality-based dialogue like "You silly, stupid, pompous, idiotic ass," peppering the story line? Maybe so. More likely, it is the real-life trials and universal themes both characters reveal throughout the production and the melodic songs that we can relate to.
