Synopsis:
Urban Bush Women presents Getting It Done, a hybrid performance piece that combines excerpts of their acclaimed dance/theater work HairStories with dialogue practice to explore nappy hair and its relationship to images of beauty, social position, heritage and self-esteem. This one-of-a-kind evening, which encourages audience participation, blends choregraphy, music, text and video in a spirited, funny, poignant and pointed celebration of individual style and beauty.
