Synopsis:
Presented as a staged reading, Patricia Hererra's A Woman Who Outshone The Sun/La Mujer Que Brillaba Aun Mas Que El Sol is inspired by the Zapotec legend of Lucia Zentano written by the poet Alejandro Cruz Martinez. It is story of a young teenager who brings tears to her mother's eye and havoc to her neighbors yet rescues her village from destruction when she pays close attention to the words of her elders for the first time.
