Synopsis:
Funny and poignant, The Diviners is a contemporary American fable that tells the story of an unexpected friendship that evolves between a former preacher and a "touched" teenager. C.C. arrives in the small community of Zion, looking for work and determined to leave preaching behind. He finds Buddy first, a young man with a special gift for divining water. While the small community looks to Buddy to use his gift to save their crops, they look to C.C. to save their spirits. As Buddy and C.C. fight against their right to choose their own paths, fate takes a tragic turn. Underscored with original bluegrass music composed and recorded by Chicago musicians, this production is a world of dirt roads, expansive skies, and a community where your neighbors not only know your name, but also your life's history.
