Synopsis:
One of Neil Simons' most popular works, Brighton Beach Memoirs is set in 1937 when we meet the Jerome family of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn through the eyes of a bright, smart-alecky teenager. Eugene has two goals in life - to pitch for the Yankees and to see a naked girl. If he fails in becoming a pitcher, he will settle for being a writer. With love and laughter, he introduces us to a hard working father, a widowed aunt, a street wise older brother, a voluptuous cousin who dreams of becoming a Broadway star, and a put-upon mother who holds them all together. Thus, we have the "Memoirs" that begin the autobiographical trilogy from the prince of American playwrights, Neil Simon.
