Synopsis:
Young Philip Ashley inherits a mansion in Cornwall on the death of his uncle, traveling abroad and recently married. But was the death of natural causes? Philip goes so far as to suspect his uncle's wife of foul play. When she comes to visit, his suspicions are quickly dispelled. In fact, Philip is captivated to the point of obsession by this charming, self-possessed woman. Daphne du Maurier, the author of Rebecca, spins a tale in My Cousin Rachel in which good English sense strives against the growing premonition of evil.
