Synopsis:
Lynn Manning is an award winning playwright, poet, actor, Paralympic Silver Medalist and former Blind Judo World Champion. He accomplished all of this after being shot and blinded in a Hollywood bar at age twenty-three. In Weights, his complex and conflicted one-man show, Manning brings us into his passionate and inspiring world with stories, poetry and music. Raised in the foster care system, he triumphs over an impoverished youth in South Central Los Angeles. Then in one fateful instant, he is forced to confront his own new fears and shatter others' assumptions when he is changed from a black man to a blind man, and from "white man's burden" to "every man's burden." He brings us into his passionate world with stories, poetry, and music.
For mature audiences.
