Must See Show
Posted on 05/26/2008 at 11:09PM by mya3030
Loved this show. Mamma Rose, Herbie, and Louise were wonderful! They all worked well together. The entire cast was very talented. If you only have time to see one Broadway play in New York - this is a must see!!!

Patti LuPone is a stage goddess!

The entire cast is first rate, with Laura Benanti and Boyd Gaines standing out, but make no mistake this production is all about Patti and her unmatchable way of commanding the stage. I have never felt as moved by a performance as I did by hers, and when she closes Act 2 with "Roses Turn", she brought tears to my eyes and goosebumps to my skin. I am blessed to have seen her in both Sweeney Todd and now in Gypsy tackling and making two of the strongest leading lady roles in theatre her own.

Patti also brought tears to my eyes in "Roses Turn." I never cry at anything and this play moved me!
