Sarah Litzsinger will once again play the role of Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast starting on May 30. She will replace Ashley Brown, who departs on May 28, and who begins rehearsals shortly for the title role in Disney's Mary Poppins, which will open at the New Amsterdam Theater in November.

Litzsinger's other Broadway credits include Marilyn, An American Fable, Oliver!, Les Miserables, and Amour. She recently played the title role of the national tour of Evita. Litzinger will be seen in the soon-to-be-released feature film Strangers With Candy starring Amy Sedaris.

Beauty and the Beast currently features Steve Blanchard as the Beast, Grant Norman as Gaston, Jacob Young as Lumiere, Jeanne Lehman as Mrs. Potts, Christopher Duva as Cogsworth, Jamie Ross as Maurice, Meredith Inglesby as Babette, Gina Ferrall as Madame de la Grande Bouche, and Aldrin Gonzalez as Lefou. Trevor Braun and Alexander Scheitinger alternate the role of Chip. As previously reported, pop star Donny Osmond will take over the role of Gaston on September 19.
