Glen Roven's new Singular Sensations! series of legendary stars in performance and conversation at the Village Theater got off to a great start this week with the amazing Carol Channing (pictured) in spectacular form.

In addition to performing her signature songs -- "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend," "A Little Girl From Little Rock," and "Hello, Dolly!" -- Channing shared many hilarious anecdotes with Roven and with the adoring audience.

The show marked the stage debut of Harry Kullijian, whom Channing met in high school and then lost contact with for more than 60 years. Soon after their reconnection, they were married. Channing continues in Singular Sensations! through this coming weekend; next up is Donna McKechnie, and subsequent programs will showcase such stars as Lainie Kazan, Elaine Paige, Shirley Jones -- and Mickey Rooney!

As a follow-up to Career Transition for Dancers' recent Gotta Dance gala at City Center, the organization held a "between show get-together" at Sardi's on Wednesday, November 5. Pictured here are Scott Wise and Deidre Goodwin; both are featured in the "Cell Block Tango" number in the Oscar-winning film version of Chicago, and Goodwin recently did a stint as Velma Kelly in the Broadway revival of the show (opposite the multi-talented Melanie Griffith as Roxie Hart).

Also at Sardi's for the CTFD event were these young, young, young members of the cast of Fame, soon to open Off-Broadway at the Little Shubert Theatre.
