Lonny Price to Direct New Frank McGuinness Play Gates of Gold

A new play by Frank McGuinness, Gates of Gold, will open at 59E59 Theaters, on January 27. Lonny Price will direct.

McGuinness received a Tony nomination for Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, and his new version of A Doll's House won a 1997 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. His translation of Hedda Gabler and adaptation of Electra also ran on Broadway. His new version of Oedipus is currently playing London's Olivier Theater, in a production starring Ralph Fiennes, while his adaptation of The Master Builder will open at NYC's Irish Repertory Theatre later this month, starring James Naughton.

Price received a Tony nomination for his book to A Class Act, which he also directed and starred in. Additional Broadway directing credits include 110 in the Shade, "MASTER HAROLD"...and the boys, Urban Cowboy, and Sally Marr...and her escorts, which he also wrote.
