Full Cast, Creative Team Set for Grote's Maria/Stuart at Woolly Mammoth

Meghan Grady, Naomi Jacobson, Eli James Sarah Marshall, Amy McWilliams, and Emily Townley will star in the world premiere of Jason Grote's Maria/Stuart, to play the Woolly Mammoth Theatre, August 18-September 14, under the direction of Pam McKinnon.

This Friedrich Schiller-inspired tale with a supernatural twist that revolves around a comic book artist and his family will open officially on August 24. The creative team includes James Krozner (sets), Deb Sivigny (costumes), Colin K. Bills (sound), and Matthew M. Nielson (sound).

Next up will be Peter Sinn Nachtrieb's Boom, to be directed by John Vreeke November 3-30. In this sci-fi fantasy, the future of humanity hangs in the balance and casual internet hook-up leads to something greater. The play is currently being presented by Ars Nova in NYC in a separate production.

From February 2-March 1, Pig Iron Theatre Company will present Hell Meets Henry Halfway, by Adriano Shaplin, to be directed by Dan Rothenberg. Their critically acclaimed adaptation of Witold Gombrowicz's gothic mystery,The Possessed, emerges as an orgiastic celebration of nihilism.

The world premiere of Robert O'Hara's Antebellum, to be directed by Chay Yew, will be presented March 30-April 26. Part mystery, part MGM epic, this stylish new play bridges time, space, religion and race to track a love affair that defies history's harshest cruelties.

It will be followed by the world premiere of Fever/Dream, by Sheila Callaghan, to be directed by Howard Shalwitz June 1-28. In the play, a forgotten employee of an American mega-corporation is literally chained to his desk, droning mindless answers to innocuous phone queries, when he is suddenly informed that he is the new CEO.

In addition to the five plays that make up the season, the company will present creator/performer Rick Miller's MacHomer, adapted from William Shakespeare's Macbeth, with characters created by Matt Groening, October 8-12. In addition, The Neo-Futurists will return December 15-January 4 with their popular Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (30 Plays in 60 Minutes), created by Greg Allen, and written, directed and performed by the company, and Mike Daisey's How Theater Failed America will return January 13-18.
