Renee Elise Goldsberry will join the cast of Broadway's Rent as Mimi on Monday, June 16, replacing Tamyra Gray.

As previously reported, Will Chase took over the role Roger on May 5 and Eden Espinosa will take over the role of Maureen on May 30. The show is scheduled to conclude its 12-year run on September 7.

Goldsberry previously starred on Broadway in The Color Purple and The Lion King and in the Shakespeare in the Park production of Two Gentlemen of Verona. She is a two-time Daytime Emmy Award nominee for her work as Evangeline Williamson on ABC's One Life to Live.

Written by Jonathan Larson, Rent won four Tony Awards in 1996, including Best Musical, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The cast also includes Adam Kantor as Mark, Michael McElroy as Collins, Justin Johnston as Angel, and Rodney Hicks as Benny.
