(courtesy of Double Edge Theatre) | The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will present Double Edge Theatre's the UnPOSSESSED as part of the Center's etcetera! series in the Terrace Theater June 21-22.
Conceived and directed by Stacy Klein, the piece was created with Carlos Uriona and Matthew Glassman and features original music by Justin Handley and Brian Fairley. Based on Miguel de Cervantes' classic novel Don Quixote, the UnPOSSESSED fuses live original music and circus arts, including aerial arts, large-scale puppetry, stilts, and commedia dell'arte.
The ensemble includes Hayley Brown (Dulcinea), Carroll Durand (the Duchess), Jeremy Louise Eaton (Altisadora), Matthew Glassman (Sancho Panza), Jennifer Johnson (Marcela), Richard Newman (Master Peter), and Carlos Uriona (Don Quixote).
The creative team will include Stacy Klein & Matthew Glassman (set design), Carroll Durand (costume design), and Mary Louise Geiger (lighting design). Music for the show will be arranged and performed by Brian Fairley and John Peitso.
