Whoopi Goldberg to Host 62nd Annual Tony Awards

Academy Award winner and Tony Award winner Whoopi Goldberg will host the 62nd Annual Tony Awards, which will be presented beginning at 8pm on Sunday, June 15 at Radio City Music Hall and aired live on CBS-TV.

As previously announced, Tony Award winners David Hyde Pierce and Sara Ramirez will announce the nominations for the awards at 8:30 am on Tuesday, May 13 at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.

In related news, Mario Lopez will host a special concert, to be taped at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Sunday, May 11 for future television broadcast, that will feature performances form this year's eligible musicals and musical revivals. The special will air in New York on WCBS (Channel 2) on Saturday, June 7, as well as other national stations between May 26-June 7.
