The Broadway musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will launch a national tour at the Broward Center in Ft. Lauderdale on November 18. The tour will feature an adapted script by director Ray Roderick (based on Jeremy Sams' stage adaptation) and an all new creative team. Casting will be announced at a later date.
Based on the MGM/United Artists motion picture and the novel by Ian Fleming, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang features songs by brothers Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, including memorable classics such as "Truly Scrumptious," "Toot Sweets," "Hushabye Mountain" and the Oscar-nominated title song.
Additional tour stops will include Tampa, Appleton, Baltimore, Dayton, San Antonio, Houston, Pittsburgh, Providence, Philadelphia, Orlando, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Louisville, Albuquerque, Salt Lake City, Tempe and Costa Mesa.
The tour will feature sets and costumes by Anthony Ward, additional set designs by Robert Bissinger, lighting by Charlie Morrison, and choreography by Joanne Hunter.
