Playwright Edward Albee will appear with his frequent interpreter, actress Marian Seldes, in a free discussion at 6pm on Thursday, April 17, at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in Lincoln Center.
Albee, who turned 80 last month, is being celebrated by numerous theaters this season, including Second Stage's recent production of Peter & Jerry, the McCarter Theatre's world premiere of Me, Myself, and I, and the current production of The American Dream and The Sandbox, directed by the playwright at the Cherry Lane Theatre.
Seldes won a Tony Award for Albee's A Delicate Balance and received a Drama Desk nomination for his The Play About the Baby. Additional Albee works that she has appeared in include Three Tall Women and Tiny Alice. She will soon be appearing in the Metropoltian Opera's new production of Donizetti's La Fllle Du Regiment.
