Tony Awards Committee Announces Additional 2008 Eligibility Rulings

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced additional eligibility rulings for the 2008 Tony Awards.

Sean Palmer and Sierra Boggess will be considered respectively in the Leading Actor and Actress in a Musical categories for their performances in Disney's The Little Mermaid. Charles Edwards will be considered in the Leading Actor in a Play category for his performance in The 39 Steps.

Dylan Baker and Laurie Metcalf will be considered respectively in the Featured Actor and Actress in a Play categories for their performances in November. Kevin Anderson and S. Epatha Merkerson will be considered respectively in the Leading Actor and Actress in a Play categories for their performances in Come Back, Little Sheba.

Michael Cumpsty and Alexander Gemignani will be considered in the Featured Actor in a Musical category, and Jessica Molaskey will be considered in the Featured Actress in a Musical category for their performances in Sunday in the Park with George. Projection designer Timothy Bird & The Knifedge Creative Network and set designer David Farley will be considered jointly in the Scenic Design of a Musical category for their work on Sunday.

Lin-Manuel Miranda and Mandy Gonzalez will be considered respectively in the Leading Actor and Actress in a Musical categories for their performances in In The Heights. Stew will be considered in the Leading Actor in a Musical category for his performance in Passing Strange.

All other decisions were consistent with the opening night credits.

This is the third time the Tony Awards Administration Committee has met this year. It will meet one more time to discuss the eligibility of shows opening in the 2007-2008 season. The cut-off date for eligibility is Wednesday, May 7th and nominations will be announced on Tuesday, May 13th.
