Megan Lawrence has replaced previously announced cast member Ana Gasteyer in the role of Gloria in Damn Yankees, the second of New York City Center's Encores! Summer Stars series, at New York City Center, to run July 5-27, with an opening on July 10. John Rando will direct, with music direction by Rob Berman. According to a press statement, Gastayer has suffered a minor injury that prevents her from continuing on with the show.

Damn Yankees features a score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, a book by George Abbott and Douglass Wallop and is based on Wallop's novel The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant. It tells the story of Joe Boyd, the ultimate baseball fan, who sells his soul to the Devil for the chance to help his team, the Washington Senators, win the pennant race against the Yankees.

As previously announced, the show will star Sean Hayes (Applegate), Jane Krakowski (Lola), Cheyenne Jackson (Joe Hardy), Randy Graff (Meg), Veanne Cox (Sister), Michael Mulheren (Benny), P.J. Benjamin (Old Joe), Robert Creighton (Smokey), Jimmy Smagula (Rocky), Kathy Fitzgerald (Doris), John Horton (Mr. Welch), and John Selya (Mambo Dancer).

The ensemble will feature Nathan Balser, David Baum, Jimmy Ray Bennett, Rachel Coloff, Anderson Davis, Marya Grandy, Shannon Lewis, Jay Lusteck, Pamela Otterson, Adam Perry, Karine Plantadit, T. Oliver Reid, Jon Rua, Stacey Sargeant, Alexander Scheitinger, Chandra Lee Schwartz, Baron Vaughn, and Cody Ryan.

The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (sets), William Ivey Long (costumes), Peter Kaczorowski (lighting), and Scott Lehrer (sound).
