Vineyard to Present Tarell Alvin McCraney's Wig Out! in September

The Vineyard Theatre will present the world premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's Wig Out!, with previews beginning in mid-September in anticipation of an early October opening. Tina Landau will direct.

The play tells the story of two competing "houses" of drag queens, and the loyalties and dreams which pull their members together and apart.

McCraney's previous works include The Brothers Size and In the Red and Brown Water. He is the recipient of The Vineyard Theatre's first Paula Vogel Playwriting Award.

The Vineyard's 2008-2009 season will also include the New York premiere of The Civilians' new work This Beautiful City, to be presented in early 2009.
