Kevin Anderson will join the previously announced star Olympia Dukakis in Hartford Stage's production of Tennessee Williams' The Milk Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore, to run May 15-June 15. Michael Wilson will direct the production.
Anderson received a Tony Award nomination for the 1999 revival of Death of a Salesman, and most recently appeared on Broadway in Come Back, Little Sheba. His other Main Stem credits include Brooklyn the Musical and Orpheus Descending.
Following Milk Train, Hartford Stage will present Elaine Stritch at Liberty, June 24-29, in which the star presents a no-holds barred look at her life and career, and includes songs and stories from her many theatrical highlights including Company, Sail Away, and Pal Joey.
Next up will be Ella, about singer Ella Fitzgerald, July 8-27. The production -- which features nearly two dozen songs including, "Cheek to Cheek," "That Old Black Magic," and "How High the Moon" -- will star Tina Fabrique.
The final show of the summer will be Carrie Fisher in her autobiographical solo piece Wishful Drinking, August 6-17. The show chronicles her unusual childhood as the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, her rise to movie icon status as Star Wars' Princess Leia, her marriage to Paul Simon, and more.
