Ghostlight Records will release a two-CD Original Broadway Cast Recording of In the Heights on June 3. The new musical, conceived and written by Lin-Manuel Miranda with a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, is currently playing the Richard Rodgers Theatre, and opened to rave reviews last week.

In the Heights is about a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan, and focuses on the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition.

The principal cast is comprised of Andréa Burns, Janet Dacal, Robin De Jesús, Carlos Gomez, Mandy Gonzalez, Christopher Jackson, Priscilla Lopez, Olga Merediz, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Karen Olivo and Seth Stewart. Additional cast members include Tony Chiroldes, Rosie Lani Fiedelman, Joshua Henry, Afra Hines, Nina Lafarga, Doreen Montalvo, Javier Muñoz, Krysta Rodriguez, Eliseo Roman, Luis Salgado, Shaun Taylor-Corbett, Rickey Tripp, Michael Balderrama, Blanca Camacho, Rogelio Douglas Jr., and Stephanie Klemons.

The production is directed by Thomas Kail and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler, and features orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire and Bill Sherman and music direction by Lacamoire.

The Off-Broadway production received numerous accolades, including Outer Critics and Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Musical and Choreography, Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Choreography and Ensemble Performance, Obie Awards for Outstanding Music and Lyrics, and Clarence Derwent and Theatre World Awards for Miranda.
