Full casting has been announced for the West Coast premiere of Craig Wright's Lady, to be presented by the Road Theatre Company, under the direction of Scott Smith, April 22-June 14, with an opening set for April 25.
In the play, three boyhood friends come together on a hunting trip. Now middle aged and on separate paths they find that the common thread of memory is being stretched to the breaking point. Can the war in Iraq reach even these secluded woods in Illinois and destroy their friendship forever?
Mark Doerr, Matt Kirkwood, and Shawn Michael Patrick will star. The design team will include Derrik McDaniel (lighting), Stephen Gifford (set), and David B. Marling (sound).
Wright's plays include The Pavilion, Grace, Orange Flower Water, and Recent Tragic Events. He has written for numerous television shows including Six Feet Under (Emmy nomination) and is the creator of the ABC series Dirty Sexy Money. Smith has previously directed the Road's ADA award nominated production of New York Mets. Other directing credits include The Adding Machine, Bus Stop, The Dearest of Friends, and Tabak.
