Marin Theatre Company Announces 2008-2009 Season

By: Tristan Fuge · Mar 5, 2008  · San Francisco Bay Area

The Marin Theatre Company's 2008-2009 season will feature a broad range of plays, including Bay Area premieres, and contemporary classics. In addition to the five play Boyer Series, MTC will be producing a sixth play on the Lieberman stage that will be the first MTC Sky Cooper New American Play Prize winner. This world premiere production will be announced at a later date.

The season will open with Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune directed by Jasson Minadakis, September 11-October 5, followed by the Bay Area premiere of Jason Grote's 1001, November 13-December 7, a time-warp re-imagining of A Thousand and One Arabian Nights directed by Josh Costello.

My Children! My Africa! by Noble Prize winner Athol Fugard will ring in the new year, January 15 - February 8, and the Bay Area premiere of Octavio Solis' Lydia, also directed by Minadakis, follows the trials of a 1970's Mexican immigrant family, March 19 - April 12. The Boyer Series will close with What the Butler Saw, June 4-June 28, a modern farce by Joe Orton.
