Full cast and creative team have been announced for the Keen Company's production of Michael Roland Murphy's The Conscientious Objector, March 4-April 19 at the Clurman Theatre. The play, to be directed by Carl Forsman, will open officially on March 18.

The play focuses on Dr. Martin Luther King's stance against the Vietnam war, and draws upon the historical record, including the FBI's relentless surveillance of King and the White House's infamous secret telephone recordings.

Joining previously announced stars DB Woodside and John Cullum in the cast are Chad Carstarphen, Jimonn Cole, Brian Hicks, Jonathan Hogan, Rachel Leslie, James Miles, Steve Routman, Geddeth Smith, and Harold Suratt. The design team includes Beowulf Boritt (sets), Josh Bradford (lights), Theresa Squire (costumes), and Daniel Baker and Daniel Kluger (sound).

Incredible production of incredible play!

It was just a preview, but this is a must see show! DB Woodside gives a remarkable performance as MLK as he struggles for the courage to voice his conscientious in the face of overwhelming oppositions from friends and foes alike. John Cullum morphs into LBJ and the scenes between the two shimmer. Great direction by Mr. Forsman, who has assembled a remarkable supporting ensemble. A truly powerful story that has incredible resonance to events today.

A powerful, well acted play with a message that spans four decades.
