The Las Vegas production of The Producers will play its final performance at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel on February 9, according to published reports.

In the musical, a crooked producer and his accountant cook up a scheme to present a massive trainwreck of a theatrical fiasco and pocket their investors' money before the curtain falls. It features a score by Mel Brooks, and a book by Brooks and Thomas Meehan, based on Brooks' 1968 film of the same title. Directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman, the show features sets by Robin Wagner, costumes by William Ivey Long, and lighting by Peter Kaczorowski. The show began performances January 31 of this year, and officially opened on February 9.

The production currently stars Tony Danza, who will continue in the role of Max Bialystock until the production's end date. The actor previously played Max on Broadway. His other New York theater credits include A View from the Bridge, The Iceman Cometh, and Wrong Turn at Lungfish. He is also a popular cabaret performer who has appeared many times at Feinstein's at the Regency, and he is well known as the star of four prime-time television series: Taxi, Who's the Boss?, Hudson Street, and Family Law. Danza received an Emmy Award nomination for his guest starring role on The Practice and was the host of his own talk show, The Tony Danza Show.

In her review of the Vegas production of The Producers, Christine Westley wrote, "the show is almost a different animal than the Broadway version. It has been cut from its normal running time of two hours and 40 minutes to a Vegas-friendly 90 minutes, and some odd choices were made in the editing process."
