Barbara Cook to Perform Concerts in LA, NYC, and London

Barbara Cook, who turns 80 on Thursday, October 25, will celebrate this milestone birthday with three special concerts in Los Angeles, New York, and London.

On Saturday, October 27, she will perform her latest concert No One Is Alone in Los Angeles, at the Disney Concert Hall. Next month, she will perform the New York Philharmonic on November 19 and 20, The concerts, which will have musical direction by Lee Musiker, will feature songs by composers and lyricists such as Sigmund Romberg, Harold Arlen, Kurt Weill, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and Burt Bacharach & Hal David.

Next up is the World AIDS Day Concert -- Barbara Cook and Friends at the London Coliseum on December 2. She will be joined by such West End stars as Elaine Paige, Julia McKenzie, Ruthie Henshall, Anne Reid, Maureen Lippman, Nicholas Parsons, Sian Phillips, Daniel Evans, Graham Bickley, and Sally Anne Triplett. The event will benefit Interact Worldwide, a UK-based international AIDS charity.

Cook made her Broadway debut in Flahooley and went on to star in such shows as Plain and Fancy, Candide, The Gay Life, She Loves Me, and The Grass Harp. She won the Tony Award for her work as Marian in The Music Man.
