Emmy Award winner Jean Marsh will join Matthew Warchus' production of Mark Camoletti's comedy, Boeing-Boeing on October 1 as Bertha. She will replace Rhea Perlman.
The play concerns Bernard, a successful architect living in Paris, who thinks he can easily cope with his three air hostess fiancées, thanks to the help of his long-suffering housekeeper Bertha, who reluctantly has the role of romantic air-traffic controller. When old school chum Robert arrives, Bernard relishes the chance to show his wide-eyed friend his first-class operation at work, but things don't go so smoothly.
Marsh is best known for her Emmy-winning portrayal of Rose on the series Upstairs Downstairs, which she also co-created. Her many theater credits include Much Ado About Nothing, The Importance of Being Earnest, Uncle Vanya, and Hamlet.
As of October 1, the cast of Boeing-Boeing will also include Kevin McNally, Elena Roger, Neil Stuke, Tracy Ann-Oberman, and Jennifer Ellison.
