Marc Kudisch and Erin Davie will be among the stars of Lincoln Center Theatre's production of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's musical, The Glorious Ones, which begins previews at the Mitzi Newhouse Theater on October 11. The production, to be directed and choreographed by Graciela Daniele, will open on November 5.

Based on the novel by Francine Prose, The Glorious Ones takes place in 17th-century Italy and focuses on the backstage goings on amongst a troupe of actors. Ahrens and Flaherty's previous musicals include Ragtime, for which they won the Tony Award, Once on This Island, Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, A Man of No Importance, and Dessa Rose.

The show was originally produced by the Pittsburgh Public Theater, and this production will star five members of that cast: Natalie Venetia Belcon as Columbina, John Kassir as Dottore, David Patrick Kelly as Pantalone, Julyana Soelistyo as Armanda Ragusa, and Jeremy Webb as Francesco Andreini. Kudisch will play Flaminio Scala, and Davie will play Isabella Andreini; those roles were previously portrayed by Paul Schoeffler and Jenny Powers.

The creative team will include Daniel Ostling (scenic design), Mara Blumenfeld (costumes), Stephen Strawbridge (lighting), Zach Moore (sound), Michael Starobin (orchestrations), and David Holcenberg (musical direction). Daniele's many Broadway credits include Ragtime, Once on This Island, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life, and The Pirate Queen.

Hattie...What I Need You To Know!
Playwright/performer Vickilyn Reynolds is a vocal powerhouse in this clunky bio-musical about Hattie McDaniel.
