The Broadway production of Peter Morgan's Frost/Nixon has recouped its $2.5 million investment as of Sunday, July 29, only 14 weeks after it opened on Broadway. However, the show must end its limited engagement on Sunday, August 19 in order to accommodate the film version of the drama, which will be directed by Ron Howard.

2007 Tony Award winner Frank Langella and Michael Sheen will reprise their stage roles for the film; they play Richard Nixon and British talk show host David Frost, who conducted a series of television interviews with the former U.S. president in 1977.

The show is directed by Michael Grandage, and the cast includes Remy Auberjonois as John Birt, Shira Gregory as Evonne Goolagong, Corey Johnson as Jack Brennan, Stephen Kunken as Jim Reston, Stephen Rowe as Swifty Lazar and Mike Wallace, Triney Sandoval as Manolo Sanchez, Armand Schultz as Bob Zelnick, and Roxanna Hope as Caroline Cushing.

In addition, the show's producers are planning a national tour of the show beginning in the fall of 2008, although no specific details were announced. The show began its life last year at London's Donmar Warehouse and later played the West End before coming to New York.

As previously reported, the film's supporting cast will include Kevin Bacon, Sam Rockwell, Oliver Platt, Matthew MacFayden, Kate Jennings Grant, and Toby Jones. No specific release date has been announced.
