Drew Sarich to Be Les Miz's New Jean Valjean on July 23

Drew Sarich will take over the role of Jean Valjean in the Broadway revival of Les Misérables on July 23. He replaces original star Alexander Gemignani.

Sarich, a member of the show's ensemble, and Ben Crawford are currently alternating in the role of Javert; Robert Hunt takes over the part on July 6. As previously reported, Chip Zien will play the role of M. Thenardier for 10 weeks beginning on June 29, while original star Gary Beach takes a leave of absence from the show.

The production stars Lea Salonga as Fantine, Ann Harada as Mme. Thenardier, Megan McGinnis as Eponine, Max Von Essen as Enjoras, Ali Ewoldt as Cosette, and Adam Jacobs as Marius.
