Johanna Day, Bill Pullman, and Dallas Roberts will star in Edward Albee's Peter and Jerry (October 19-December 9), the first production in Second Stage Theatre's new season. The author's reworking of his seminal 1958 play The Zoo Story adds a prequel that focuses on the home life of Peter prior to his fateful meeting with Jerry on a park bench. Pam MacKinnon will direct.

Day appeared in Hartford Stage's world premiere of Peter and Jerry. She received a Tony nomination for her performance in Proof; her other credits include Satellites, How I Learned to Drive, Helen, and Blue Window. Pullman starred on Broadway in Albee's The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?, and Off-Broadway in such shows as Life and Limb and Curse of the Starving Class. He is well known for his film work, including Independence Day and Sleepless in Seattle. Roberts' Off-Broadway credits include A Number, Burn This, and Nocturne.

In other news, the remainder of the Second Stage season has been announced, although no dates have been set. The theater will present the musical Next to Normal, the New York Musical Theater Festival hit previously titled Feeling Electric. With music by Tom Kitt and book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, the show is about an almost average suburban family who must come to grips with a long buried secret. Michael Greif will direct.

The season will also include Beau Willimon's new play Farragut North, a dark comedy set in the world of presidential politics, and a revival of Richard Nelson's Some Americans Abroad, about college students and their professors on a literary tour of England. The latter production will be directed by Gordon Edelstein.
