 | Boyd Gaines and Hugh Dancy in Journey's End
(© Paul Kolnik) | The Broadway revival of R.C. Sherriff's 1929 war play Journey's End will end its run at the Belasco Theatre on Sunday, June 10. At that time, the production will have played 15 previews and 125 regular performances.
The show recently received six Tony Award nominations, including Best Revival of a Play, Best Director for David Grindley, and acting nods for Boyd Gaines and Stark Sands. The cast also includes Hugh Dancy, Jefferson Mays, John Ahlin, Nick Berg Barnes, John Behlmann, Justin Blanchard, Kieran Campion, John Curless, and Richard Poe; the design team includes Jonathan Fensom (scenic and costume design), Jason Taylor (lighting) and Gregory Clarke (sound).
In Theatermania's review of the production, David Finkle wrote: "Under Grindley's seasoned direction, the cast acts with the fortitude and finesse of a well-trained platoon. Dancy shows all the colors at play in patrician breeding under fire. Gaines is wise and stoic as Osborne; Mays is a reliable, obliging Mason; and Sands shines as the innocent, well-meaning Raleigh. Of the others in the polished ensemble, Ahlin is hugely likeable as Trotter and Blanchard cowers beautifully as Hibbert. "
