Fantasia Barrino, the new star of The Color Purple, is welcomed to Broadway, while Sir David Frost, Sarah Ferguson, Hugh Dancy and Claire Danes, Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts, et al. celebrate the opening of Frost/Nixon.

Broadway's newest superstar is here! Former American Idol champion Fantasia Barrino (right), who is now playing Celie in the musical The Color Purple, was feted at a party on Sunday evening at the new Times Square club Spotlight Live. She was joined at the celebration by newscaster Gayle King, best pal of Color Purple producer Oprah Winfrey.

Other guests at the party included Renée Elise Goldsberry, The Color Purple's original Nettie and a 2007 Daytime Emmy Award nominee for her role of Evangeline Williamson on ABC's One Life to Live...

Sunday also marked the opening of Broadway's newest hit play, Frost/Nixon. Here's Tony Award winner Frank Langella, who gives an amazing performance as former president Richard M. Nixon...

Veteran CBS newsman Mike Wallace, who is actually a character in Frost/Nixon (played on videotape by Stephen Rowe), was one of the many luminaries who attended the show on opening night.
