WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

How the Other Half Loves is written by Alan Ayckbourn and directed by John Tillinger, the playwright and director who recently brought to the Playhouse the hit comedies Time of My Life and Relatively Speaking. A late night affair turns into a dinner party to remember where comedy is the main course.

WHAT ARE CRITICS SAYING?

For Sir Alan Ayckbourn, the word "prolific" is a feeble description -- having written close to 75 plays in his career -- but no one will get a fight from me by declaring that of all his bittersweet comedies, the most hilarious is his 1970 play How the Other Half Loves, which is getting a perfect production at the Westport Country Playhouse. And the credit here goes not only to Ayckbourn, but to director John Tillinger, who maximizes every dastardly plot twist and guffaw-getting line in the script, and has been savvy enough to retain some of his previous powerhouse players from Westport's prior Ayckbourn outings.

RE:Excellent Production
Another excellent production of Ayckbourn"s comedy at Westport. Very funny and excellent acting by all the cast members. Note to anyone seeing the play, please read the program notes before you see the play. "Time and Space in the plays of Alan Ayckbourn". It will clue you in on the plays setting, if not it may take you 10 mins to know whats happening.
