Hobey Ford's Golden Rod Puppets have been described by the Puppeteers of America as "always beautiful, expressive and well-manipulated." His spell binding performances combine cultural folktales with a wide variety of puppetry styles that "take the audience back to a time before television and media entertainment, where story was real." Using his own voice to create characters and sound effects, Mr. Ford tells stories and sings, sharing the stories and songs from many world cultures, adding an intimate and personal element to each performance. Recognized for excellence in puppetry performance and craft, Hobey Ford utilizes his studies in art to design, engineer and construct all of the Gold Rod Puppets as well as the delightful sets surrounding them.
