Thoroughly Modern Millie begins performances tonight at Goodspeed Musicals. Denis Jones directs.

The Tony Award-winning musical features a book by Richard Morris and Dick Scanlan, new music by Jeanine Tesori, and new lyrics by Dick Scanlan. Based on the original story and screenplay by Richard Morris for the Universal Pictures film, the show is described as follows: "In 1922 New York, all the modern girls are sporting bobbed hair and heightened hemlines! Newcomer Millie is no exception, jumping headlong into a makeover and a dizzy plan to marry rich — until she falls for a penniless charmer."

Thoroughly Modern Millie stars Darien Crago (Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn), Caley Crawford (Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn), Tony nominee Loretta Ables Sayre (South Pacific), Patrick Graver (Bullets Over Broadway), Bryan Thomas Hunt (Chasing Rainbows), Emily Kelly (assistant choreographer on Goodspeed’s The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd), Daniel May (Flower Drum Song), P.J. Palmer (Elf), Amelia Jo Parish, Sherisse Springer (Chicago), Sarah Quinn Taylor (Harmony), Amy Van Norstrand (Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn), and Darius Wright (Matilda). The swings will be Evan Mayer and Elise Mestichelli.

The creative team includes Paul Tate dePoo III (scenic design), Gregory Gale (costume design), Mark Adam Rampmeyer (hair and wig design), and Jay Hilton (sound design). The music director is Michael O’Flaherty.

Performances continue through July 2.
