Jonathan Hogan, Simone Kirby, and Ciaran O’Reilly will star in the previously reported presentation of Irish Repertory Theatre’s production of Molly Sweeney at the Long Wharf Theatre, September 14-October 16. Charlotte Moore will direct.

Brian Friel’s play centers on a woman, who, having been blind since she was an infant, has her eyesight restored.

Hogan and Kirby starred in Irish Rep’s original mounting of the production earlier this year, and will be reprising their roles as Mr. Rice and Frank Sweeney, respectively. Kirby is also reprising her role, having taken over the lead in the play from original star Geraldine Hughes during an extension of the show’s run at Irish Rep.

The creative team will include James Morgan (sets), Linda Fisher (costumes), Richard Pilbrow and Michael Gottlieb (lights), and Zachary Richardson (sound).
