Jenn Gambatese, Sean Palmer, Alexandra Socha, et al. Set for We Have Always Lived in the Castle

Yale Repertory Theatre has announced casting for We Have Always Lived in the Castle, to run September 17 – October 9 at the University Theatre. Anne Kauffman will direct the production, which will have musical direction by Dan Lipton and musical staging by Seán Curran.

Based on the novel by Shirley Jackson, the musical features book and lyrics by Adam Bock, and music, lyrics and orchestrations by Todd Almond. It centers on a woman who was acquitted of a horrible crime and the ways in which her family attempts to protect themselves from the outside world.

The company will feature Richard Todd Adams (Jim Donell), Heather Ayers (Mrs. Donell), Bill Buell (Julian Blackwood), Joy Franz (Lucille Wright, Ellen Blackwood, Mrs. Prudhomme), Jenn Gambatese (Constance Blackwood), Carly Hughes (Stella), Beth McVey (Helen Clarke, Dorothy Blackwood, Mrs. Taggert), Ryan Murphy (Joe Jr., Thomas Blackwood), Sean Palmer (Charles Blackwood), William Parry (Mr. Elbert, John Blackwood), Matt Pearson (Joe Durham), and Alexandra Socha (Mary Katherine “Merricat” Blackwood).

The creative team will include David Zinn (scenic design), Ilona Somogyi (costume design), Stephen Strawbridge (lighting design), and Tony Smolenski IV (sound design).
