Christopher Plummer to Speak at Westport Country Playhouse on September 16

Award-winning actor Christopher Plummer will give The Malloy Lecture in the Arts: Remembering Archie (Archibald MacLeish–The Poet and the Man) on Thursday, September 16 at 7pm at Westport Country Playhouse. The event, which is being presented by the Westport Public Library, is free and open to the public

Plummer, who will combine MacLeish’s poetry with his personal reminiscences of the poet., will also be interviewed by Westport Country Playhouse Artistic Advisor Anne Keefe about his own career and his memoir In Spite of Myself. He will be available to sign books after the talk.

Plummer won Tony Awards for Cyrano and Barrymore and most recently appeared on Broadway in Inherit the Wind and King Lear. He won the Evening Standard Award for the London production of Becket and frequently performs at the Shakespeare Stratford Festival, where he is currently starring in The Tempest. His many film and television credits include The Sound of Music, The Man Who Would Be King and A Beautiful Mind.
