Alvin Epstein To Appear in Imaginary Invalid and Holiday in New Haven

Alvin Epstein has been cast in the Elm Shakespeare Company’s repertory season, according to a report in the Hartford Courant‘s Behind the Curtain blog. Epstein will be appearing in the company’s productions of Moliere’s The Imaginary Invalid and Philip Barry’s Holiday in New Haven from August 13 – September 6.

Epstein’s stage credits include appearances on and off Broadway and in regional theaters across the country. Notably he played Lucky in the original American production of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot. More recently he played King Lear in both New York and Boston.

Barry’s 1920s comedy of manners, directed by James Andreassi, will start off the Elm’s season on the 13th. Allyn Burrows will stage Moliere’s farce, which will also feature Andreassi. The production will join the repertory season on August 20. The shows will be offered free of charge in New Haven’s Edgerton Park.
