Reed Birney, Michael Countryman, Laura Heisler, et al. Set for O’Neill’s National Playwrights Conference

The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center has announced casting for the eight plays to be developed at this year’s National Playwrights Conference to run July 6-30.

Jennifer Haley’s The Nether (July 6-7) will feature Michael Countryman, Jon Devries, Megan Green, and Jeanine Seralles. Demo Chrysan, Kevin Geer, Zabryna Guevara, Armando Riesco, Najla Said, and Jaime Tireli – along with musician Nelson Gonzales – will appear in Quiara Alegria Hudes’ The Happiest Song Plays Last (July 8-9). The cast for Christina Anderson’s Good Goods (July 13-14) will be comprised of Cherise Booth, Frank Harts, Tyrone Henderson, Aja King, Curtis McClarin, and Hubert Point Du Jour, while Molly Coogan, Rick Foucheux, Linda Gehringer, Ben Morrow and Matt Stadleman will be seen in Anna Ziegler’s An Inicident.

Reed Birney, Hannah Cabell, Rob Campbell, Laura Heisler, Scott Lowell, Natalie Payne, Thomas Jay Ryan, and Ray Anthony Thomas will perform Keith Reddin’s Acquainted with the Night (July 20-21) and Jessica Cummings, Evan Enderle, Stephen Ellis and Ben Morrow are set for Deborah Zoe Laufer’s Leveling Up (July 22-23). Dan LeFranc’s The Troublemaker Project (July 27-28) will feature Brett Aresco, Steve Boyer, Chad Goodridge, Benjamin Katz, Gabe King, Christopher McFarland, Jenny Seastone Stern and Danielle Skraastad, and Don Guillory, Brian Quijada, and Karen Pittman will appear in Idris Goodwin’s How We Got On (July 29-30).
