Jarrod Emick, Barbara Walsh, Kate Weatherhead, et al. Set for O’Neill’s 2011 National Music Theater Conference

The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center has announced casting for the pieces to be presented as part of the 2011 National Music Theater Conference, to run June 25 – July 15.

Whitney Bashor, Erik Lochtefeld, Lindsay Mendez, Catherine Porter, Matthew Scott, and Price Waldman will be featured in Daniel Goldstein and Michael Friedman’s exploration of romance that spans two generations, Unknown Soldier (June 25 – July 1), to be directed by Laura Eason, with musical direction by Thomas Murray.

Son of a Gun (July 2-8), by Don Chaffer and Chris Cragin, is a comic portrait of an eccentric Appalachian family of musicians, and will have a cast that includes Billy Brimblecom, Michael Castillejos, David Finch, Lori Fischer, Rebecca Hart, Van Hughes, Ryan Link, and Skye Scott. Gabriel Barre will direct and Matt Hinkley will serve as music director.

Danny Binstock and Barbara Walsh will appear in The Shadow Sparrow (July 7-14), by Keith Gordon, Charlie Sohne and Anton Dudley, a cabaret musical set in Paris’ Pere LaChaise Cemetery. Joe Calarco will helm the piece, which will have music direction by David Libby.

Daniel Zaitchik and Jordan Harrison’s Suprema (July 9-15), which looks at the creator of both Wonder Woman and the lie-detector test, and the two real women who inspired him, will feature Heath Calvert, Jarrod Emick, Jamey Hood, Carl Kimbrough, Theresa McCarthy, Rachel Resheff, Price Waldman, and Kate Weatherhead. May Adrales will direct and Julie McBride serve as music director.
