Dina Merrill will be honored at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's 2009 Summer Gala, to be held in the O'Neill's Sunken Garden in Waterford, Connecticut, on July 17 at 6 pm.

The evening will include a silent auction, dinner, and entertainment featuring O'Neill Cabaret and Performance Conference artists past and future. Michael Bush will direct the program, and Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones will serve as honorary co-chairs.

Merrill's Broadway credits include On Your Toes, Angel Street, and The Mermaids Singing. She has appeared in twenty-two feature films, including BUtterfield 8, Operation Petticoat, The Young Savages, and Desk Set. She has served on the O'Neill's Board of Trustees for over twenty-five years, and The Dina Merrill Theater, located on the O'Neill campus, was named in her honor.
